Android Developer Live Q&A #34 – Software Architecture, Java, Kotlin, Clean, MVP

Welcome to my livestream Q&A. It’s live, and it works best when you ask questions. I mostly do this for beginners (although I’m happy to chat about advanced topics with more senior devs), so if you’re a beginner, ASK SOME DAMN QUESTIONS.

Beginner Android REST Tutorial – Project Demo and Overview

In this tutorial series, I’ll be explaining the fundamentals of RESTful Web Services, and what the hell that actually means. In particular, I’ll be demonstrating how to build a basic REST API to pull Repository Data from GitHub’s REST Endpoint. We’ll use Retrofit, OKHttp, and a bit of RxJava magic to make it all work nicely.

In this video, I open by demonstrating the facial expression of the average Eastern European. Afterwords, a brief demo and overview of the project.

Kotlin is here for Android. Is Java dead Now ?

If you are following Google I/O, you might have already heard about the launch of first class support of Kotlin. Kotlin is now the official language supported by google for android development.
With Android studio version 3, Kotlin will be shipped and will be ready to use for the developers.

This is one of the most perfect time for the new developers to get started with Kotlin and become Android developer

Android WTF: Java Interfaces by Example

It’s not hard to find a definition of what Interfaces are, but in this video I wanted to tackle the concept from a different approach. In this video, we look at a made up programming problem which is intended to demonstrate a perfect scenario for solving a problem by making an Interface.
