Linux Deploy is an app that will allow you to download and install from a selection of Linux distributions from Ubuntu, Debian, Kali, etc. It uses the chroot feature of the Linux kernel found in all Android devices to create symlinks to system folders and to allow Linux applications to launch on the Android kernel.

Xserver XSDL is the application which will display the Linux desktop environment of your choosing on your display. What’s nice about Xserver is that it is a native, direct connection to the Android display server from the chroot environment, hence the name SDL (Simple Direct Layer). This will allow for high performance display output (30FPS+), far better than VNC.

[Ubuntu 17.10 / GNOME 3.26] Sorting Shell Search Results from Settings!

yet another super feature for GNOME 3.26 release in September! Notice this isn’t on master, it may change, it may not ever come etc etc!

Linux Mint 18 Cinnamon Themes and Icons beyond the default

If you want to make your Linux Mint Cinnamon desktop look absolutely different from default theme, watch this video and you will be able to customize your Linux mint beyond the default settings.

If you go to Linux Mint Settings – Themes you will find a set of themes that come with Linux Mint by default. There are some pretty themes. For example, I really like Linux Mint Y theme.

if you want to install additional themes, you can do it by installing desktop themes from the settings: Settings – Themes – Add desktop theme

You can also install Linux Mint themes and icons from Gnome-look.org.

If it is a .deb package, install it using Gdebi with the right click of your mouse.

If it is an archive, download it, extract and move themes to .themes folders, icons to .icons folder.

Similarly, you can install theme from Github.com.

In the video I installed and showed these themes and icons:

Mint Y,
Windows 10 theme,
OSX Arc Collection,
Chrome OS theme,
Plataro icons,
ycDmz cursor,
Numix Icons,
Uniform icons,
iOS theme,
