Google fixes pixel 2 xl display issues with november’s android security patch | Tech News

Google is now rolling out Novembers Android security patch for all of its supported devices, including the brandnew Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, for which it fixes some recent display issues reported by users. This months patch is fixing critical security vulnerabilities, such as the wellknown KRACK Key Reinstallation Attack issue, which affects virtually all devices that connect to the Internet using the WPA2 security protocol. A total of 84 issues have been addressed with the November Android 8.0 Oreo security patch. Google also announced that it launched a new Pixel Nexus Security Bulletin to inform the Android community about any additional security vulnerabilities and improvements that it brought to supported Pixel and Nexus devices. For example, the company addressed some recently reported the Pixel 2 XL display issues. Burnin protection and new color modes now available for Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL Among the new features Google added with the November Android Security Patch for Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL devices to improve the display, we can mention a new Saturated color mode and burnin protection. The update also fixes a faint clicking noise reported by users of Pixel 2 devices. This update also brings planned UI changes which extend the life of the OLED display, including a fade out of the navigation buttons at the bottom of the screen and an update to maximum brightness, noted Google in an announcement. These features have been carefully designed so as not to detract from the user experience. Google also promises to bring further enhancements to the OLED displays used in the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones, maximizing their life, so keep an eye on Decembers Android software update as it will include more improvements thatll make Googles Pixel devices more useful, stable, and reliable over time. Novembers Android Patch is currently rolling out to Googles Pixel, Pixel 2, Pixel XL, Pixel 2 XL, Pixel C, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, and Nexus Player devices running the Android 8.0 Oreo mobile operating system. Users are urged to update their devices as soon as possible by using the builtin OTA OvertheAir update system.
