Multithreading in Android: This is Android App Development and you’ll learn how to use multiple threading to do multiple tasks at the same time, one task is for a looping and another task is for reading data from a website url by using HttpURLConnection. To run another thread in Android, you can use Thread class and combine Handler to send data back to UI. In this example, I want to know you how to read data in HTML format from a website, http://android.com. So you will learn how to use HttpURLConnection class (from Java lib) to connect to a URL and use InputStream to read data. Threading and Loaders. (Android Performance Patterns Season 5, Ep. 8)

Let’s say you’ve got some 20 bitmaps being decoded on a worker thread. Well, what happens if your activity is destroyed before that work completes?

In this video Doug Stevenson explains Loaders. A super-helpful class that can give you insight into how the activity lifecycle is changing, so that you can better understand how to address threaded work that might be in flight.
