MXQPRO-4K AMLOGIC S905 JIDE REMIX OS 2.0 ANDROID LOLLIPOP 5.1.1 FIRMWARE – Quick Look

Here is a quick look at Remix OS running on the MXQPRO Amlogic S905 Android TV Box – Although aimed at the MXQPRO I am pretty confident it will also run on similar S905 hardware – Proceed with caution and ensure you understand the risks.

This does require you to install over Android so please use TWRP to backup your original firmware in case anything goes wrong.

All credit for this, goes to the jide team behind remix os – This system is also available for PC and more more hardware –

KODI 17 KRYPTON ON ANDROID KITKAT 4.4.2 – Quick Look At Mygicas KRYPTON Port Running On KITKAT

This is a very interesting development that I would like to share with you.

Their are many devices such as mobile phones and tv box’s still running Android 4.4.2 ‘KITKAT’ Mygica have ported KODI 17 to this operating system, so their is now no need to chuck out your device.

Installation procedure is pretty simple

Google Playstore – download FIREDL – Typed 60002 and click download and wait for that to complete and the APP installation prompt.

Entertainment box re-branded version link below

https://www.entertainmentbox.com/download-latest-xbmc-kodi-droid-tv-box-frodo-gotham-justxbmc/

Head down to the section that says ‘latest embc download’ and download the top link – This will download you a APK file in which you simply transfer onto a memory device, insert into your tv box and then use your APK installer application ‘installed on most devices’ and install the APK

Ensure you uninstall other versions of KODI before attempting to install, not sure if it runs alongside other versions just yet.

Installation guide here – http://mxqproject.com/kodi-17-for-tv-box-s-running-android-4-4-2-kitkat

Please let me know how well this port runs in the comments below – More videos to follow on this exciting development.

DEBIAN DESKTOP FOR THE MXQ S805 TV BOX – Installation Setup Guide

Here we have our original port of Armbian desktop for the MXQ TV box with the Amlogic S805 SOC – This port was done over a year ago and cost a considerable amount to get to this point, unfortunately the developer walked away from the project for some unknown reason.

You will need a SD card – The faster the better – Not all MXQ Motherboards are supported.

Ensure to unzip the file below, here is a suitable tool – http://www.7-zip.org/download.html

MXQPROJECT Armbian Port – http://mxqproject.com/files/MXQ-Debian-8/MXQProject-Linux-Desktop/

Win32disk Program – http://mxqproject.com/files/win32disk/

Since then, the developer Balbes150, over on freaktab has ported Armbian for the MXQ S805 as well as a number of different TV box with Amlogic SOC’s – The port done by Balbes is far more mature, including more WIFI drivers etc.
