17 Google Map Images You Won’t Believe Exist

From a heart shaped island to a giant bunny these are some of the weirdest google map images you won’t believe actually exist!

10 – You’re not safe anywhere!
So besides the vehicles that capture the images for Google Maps, there are also trikes, trolleys, snowmobiles, SUV’s and satellites that capture the images throughout the year. So you are really not safe anywhere!
So when this poor woman needed to go – she really needed to go. What she didn’t need, was Google taking a picture of her doing her business. Granted she did have a whiz on the side of the road in broad daylight – but I doubt she ever imagined that she would be seeing this image online!

9 – How’s this for a “space” ship…
This is the SS Jassim, and it’s one of the largest ship wrecks visible from Google Earth. It’s no surprise really, as the ferry is 80.54 metres long and 13 metres wide.
Just a little bit of FYI, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric administration, there are roughly 1 million shipwrecks at this exact point in time.
It was in 2003 that the SS Jassim sank just off the coast of Sudan.

8 – What do they teach our kids?
Imagine asking someone what school they go to, and they reply – Oh, the school with the giant penis. I’m sure you will be a bit surprised, but it’s the truth. The Clancy Catholic School has been vandalized with the etchings of 3 giant penises.
The school has been struggling to get the image removed from Google Maps, and have had no luck so far.

7 – No joke…
Google Maps has really uncovered many things that some people would rather forget. This image has brought out buried memories for Jose Barrera, who believes that the image he is seeing, is the body of his deceased 14-year-old son, who was killed in 2009.

6 – Speculate away… because there are loads of “unexplained” images just like this doing the rounds on Google Maps.
Sad to say though, there is no alien involvement and all of them have a pretty logical explanation. Desert Breath began in 1995, and is still visible after all this time. It’s over a million square feet, and found in the eastern Sahara Desert, bordering the Red Sea. The team displaced 8000 cubic metres of sand to create these incredible shapes.

5 – We found him…
That’s Wally of course, and this was a project by Melanie Coles. For her final year art project, she created a massive Where’s Wally and popped it on the roof of a building in Vancouver. She challenged people to play using Google Earth, and offered a real life version of the very popular game. She did of course get an A for her efforts.

4 – Sheer beauty
This is the Grand Prismatic Spring,in the Yellowstone National Park, and Google Maps has captured its beauty brilliantly.

3 – Say cheese
There are many Google Map images of faces. There’s an Oprah Winfrey Maze, Pumkins sketched into fields, Suns appearing in crops, the smiling face of the Versailles Gardens, we’ve seen “lips” and bare bottoms appearing out of hay bales and trees… but this image is just so unique. It’s of a native American Indian peering out from the hills of Alberta, in Canada. A mix between old and new, as it appears like she is wearing headphones.

2 – Hop to it…
If you were to go for a hike in Northern Italy’s mountainside sometime between now and 2025, don’t be surprised when you come across this gigantic bunny.
It’s 55 meters long, and was meant to make its audience feel tiny, like I Gulliver’s travels. It’s made from straw and fabric, and will decompose naturally. The say by 2025 it will be gone.

1 – Just for the love of it…
And our last image – just because we love what we do… here is a heart shaped island, just for you.
Made famous by Google Maps, this 130 000-foot islet is now a lover’s hot spot. Apparently no one lives on the island, so the owner said it would be the perfect place for a romantic getaway.
So book your next romantic getaway now… just be careful that Google Maps doesn’t snap you in the act!

In this new world, a series of events between justice and evil, conservatism and radicalism has erupted. Which path will you choose?

In the quantum virtual world, you can become the leader of the Wanderers Celestial, who represents justice and order. Or become Zero, who is the No.1 cyber hunter. Then jump into vivid, well-developed interwoven stories that are filled with fresh and distinctive characters.

Our heroes of this new world possess an absolute superpower, the ability to manipulate Quantum Cube energy into various structures. Create a 12-meter-high watchtower to provide protection and a tactical advantage, set up traps to freeze enemies, forge radars to detect your enemy whereabouts and more. Everything is under your control. Quantum Cube energy can easily be obtained in the quantum virtual world by breaking down various objects found on the battleground, such as refrigerators, street lamps, fences, etc.

I hope that Project : Battle can bring you a completely new experience. However, as it is currently in the alpha testing phase, the game is far from perfect. If you encounter any problems while exploring this virtual world, such as unexpected errors or crashes during gameplay or if you have any suggestions to improve the gaming experience, please let me know. You can contact the team by hitting Feedback in the game. I very much appreciate your understanding and support. Your enthusiasm and love for the game will be the source of the team’s continued efforts.

Finally, I’d like to express my sincerest thanks again to you for participating in this test and supporting the game. Thank you!

Sensei Project Online Time Reporter™ app for iOS and Android

The Sensei Time Reporter for Microsoft Project Online gives team members the freedom to submit timesheets and task updates from their mobile device through a native app experience on Android and iPhones.

When a project manager assigns work to individuals in Microsoft Project; the team member will see a clear and concise list of tasks directly on their mobile device, with key dates, percent work complete, remaining work and a visual indication on whether the task is running late.

Users can easily view all their tasks and sort and filter as well as track work that is overdue or new. Editing tasks is simple and updates are submitted to the project manager for approval.

For organizations that use the full timesheet in Project Online, users will see their tasks on the timesheet alongside categories for non-working time and non-project time for a complete view of everything on their plate.

The Sensei Time Reporter App enables your mobile workforce to collaborate from anywhere and provide real-time updates on the progress of their projects.

Microsoft PPM – Power BI Content Pack

Microsoft just announced an updated Power BI Content Pack for Microsoft PPM, which allows organizations to get started quickly with dashboards and reports without requiring any customizations in Project Online. This content pack utilizes the latest visualizations and features available in Power BI and contains 13 pages supporting portfolio, resource, and project reporting:

Portfolio reporting – focuses on viewing key data across the entire portfolio of projects, including which projects are in the governance phases, by owner, department, project type, and key performance indicators. It also includes a portfolio timeline, roll up of costs, summary of key milestones, as well as risks and issues across the entire portfolio.

Resource reporting – focuses on understanding resource availability across the organization, including the ability to zoom in on specific departments and groups. It also allows resource managers to quickly drill down into the data to see which projects their staff is working on and what the detailed work is. Predictive analytics reporting shows forecasted demand based on historical information.

Project reporting – provides an automated project-level status report that summarizes key data on the project and highlights variances for cost, work, and the schedule. It summarizes all completed milestones and upcoming milestones, and provides links to the project schedule as well as the project site.

This content pack update will help you take your organization’s Project and Portfolio Management reporting to powerful new levels. It will support everyone in your organization, from highly visual executive dashboards, to resource utilization reporting for resource managers, down to detailed project reports for business sponsors and project managers.

Sensei Portfolio Advisor™ – Automated health checks for Microsoft PPM

The Sensei Portfolio Advisor™ provides automated governance & compliance reports to monitor data quality and ensure compliance to industry standards and best practices. A high quality Portfolio can greatly improve timely delivery, reduce cost overruns, improve scope management and resource capacity/demand management.

The ‘Checks’ are based on industry standards and best practices, including Sensei’s Proactive Scheduling™ and the Project Management Institute’s Practice Standards for WBS and Scheduling. The Sensei Portfolio Advisor™ utilizes both Compliance checks and Governance checks to ensure these guidelines are being followed. A Compliance check ensures that the tasks inside of a Project are following best practices, and a Governance check ensures that an entire Project is following best practices.

There are four categories of Compliance checks, and two categories of Governance Checks. The Compliance check categories are “WBS,” “Schedule,” “Resources,” and “Links.” The Governance check categories are “Standard” and “Advanced.” Both the Compliance and Governance checks are ranked by importance by using a severity:
• ‘Problem’ – has a high impact to the project and likely is producing an inaccurate forecast or affecting the ability to easily maintain the schedule and track progress.
• ‘Warning’ – has a potential for negatively impacting the project and should be reviewed in order to assure the most accurate forecast and proactive model of the schedule.
• ‘Message’ – should not negatively impact scheduling, but could improve the quality of the schedule to fully align with industry standards.

A check can be ignored entirely if it is not relevant to the organization’s standards.

The ‘Compliance score’ measures the quality of the portfolio as well as a single project schedule. By default, only Problems count towards the compliance score, but Warnings and Messages can be included.

The Health page shows the overall compliance score for the projects in the selected view with supporting charts, tables, and visuals.

The Leaderboard page shows all the projects by Project Owner and Department. The Quality Awards on the page display the top three most compliant Project Managers and the top three most compliant Departments.

The Projects page shows visuals for both the Compliance and Governance checks. When either the Governance or Compliance tab is selected from the table, the supporting visuals change. When the Compliance table is being viewed, it is possible to see that project’s Compliance Score, as well as all the Problems inside of that schedule. When the Governance table is being viewed, non-compliant sections are highlighted in red.

The Governance page is only active after a project is selected from the table on the Projects page. This page displays all the data gathered by the Governance checks with clean, easy-to-read visuals.

The Compliance page is only active after a project is selected from the table on the Projects page. This page sorts the tasks in the project by Check Type, by Severity, and By Task ID. Each sorting option offers a different visualization.

On the Compliance Checks and Governance Checks pages, it is possible to see a detailed description of each check as well as set the severity level for each or choose to ignore certain checks. It is also possible to change the values for some of the checks from both pages.

The Views page displays all of Views that are active in the environment. A View is a collection of project schedules that have certain filters applied (i.e. Projects that started this year, or only projects that are in the IT Department). To create a new view and customize its’ filters, select the “Add” option from the ribbon.

Section Review – Beginning Android Development – Your First Kotlin Android App

Congrats – you have your project setup, you’re a registered Android developer, and you have a task list ready to go. In the next part, you’ll get to work building your layout.

This course will be released entirely free on YouTube with a new video being released once per day.

For more videos, check out raywenderlich.com

About www.raywenderlich.com:

raywenderlich.com is a website focused on developing high quality programming tutorials. Our goal is to take the coolest and most challenging topics and make them easy for everyone to learn – so we can all make amazing apps.

We are also focused on developing a strong community. Our goal is to help each other reach our dreams through friendship and cooperation. As you can see below, a bunch of us have joined forces to make this happen: authors, editors, subject matter experts, app reviewers, and most importantly our amazing readers!

Kotlin is a statically typed programming language that runs on the Java virtual machine and also can be compiled to JavaScript source code or use the LLVM compiler infrastructure. Its primary development is from a team of JetBrains programmers based in Saint Petersburg, Russia.[2] While the syntax is not compatible with Java, Kotlin is designed to interoperate with Java code and is reliant on Java code from the existing Java Class Library, such as the collections framework. Kotlin uses aggressive type inference to determine the type of values and expressions for which type has been left unstated. This reduces language verbosity relative to Java, which demands often entirely redundant type specifications.

As of Android Studio 3.0 (October 2017) Kotlin is a fully supported programming language by Google on the Android Operating System[3], and is directly included in the Android Studio 3.0 IDE package as an alternative to the standard Java compiler. The Android Kotlin compiler lets the user choose between targeting Java 6- or Java 8-compatible bytecode.

Philosophy

Development lead Andrey Breslav has said that Kotlin is designed to be an industrial-strength object-oriented language, and a “better language” than Java, but still be fully interoperable with Java code, allowing companies to make a gradual migration from Java to Kotlin.

Semicolons are optional as a statement terminator; in most cases a newline is sufficient for the compiler to deduce that the statement has ended.

Kotlin variable declarations and parameter lists have the data type come after the variable name (and with a colon separator), similar to Pascal.

Variables in Kotlin can be immutable, declared with the val keyword or mutable, declared with the var keyword.

Class members are public by default, and the classes themselves are sealed by default meaning that creating a derive class is disabled without requiring explicit keywords in the base class to enable it.

In addition to the classes and methods (called member functions in Kotlin) of object-oriented programming, Kotlin also supports procedural programming with the use of functions.

Registering as an Android Developer – Beginning Android Development – Your First Kotlin Android App

Becoming an Android developer means you have to do one important thing – register yourself as a developer on Google Play. Thankfully, you’ll only have to do this once and this video will walk you through the process.

About Android

Android is a mobile operating system developed by Google, based on a modified version of the Linux kernel and other open source software and designed primarily for touchscreen mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. In addition, Google has further developed Android TV for televisions, Android Auto for cars, and Android Wear for wrist watches, each with a specialized user interface. Variants of Android are also used on game consoles, digital cameras, PCs and other electronics.

Initially developed by Android Inc., which Google bought in 2005, Android was unveiled in 2007, with the first commercial Android device launched in September 2008. The operating system has since gone through multiple major releases, with the current version being 8.1 “Oreo”, released in December 2017.

Android has been the best-selling OS worldwide on smartphones since 2011 and on tablets since 2013. As of May 2017, it has over two billion monthly active users, the largest installed base of any operating system, and as of 2017, the Google Play store features over 3.5 million apps.

Installing Android Studio – Beginning Android Development – Your First Kotlin Android App

The first thing you need to do to get started with Android development is to download Android Studio. Of course, downloading Android Studio isn’t so much about clicking a link, but also making sure Java is installed as well.

Introduction to Auto Layout in iOS – raywenderlich.com

In this video tutorial, you’ll understand the very basics of what goes into Auto Layout.

From Apple’s documentation

Auto Layout dynamically calculates the size and position of all the views in your view hierarchy, based on constraints placed on those views. For example, you can constrain a button so that it is horizontally centered with an Image view and so that the button’s top edge always remains 8 points below the image’s bottom. If the image view’s size or position changes, the button’s position automatically adjusts to match.

This constraint-based approach to design allows you to build user interfaces that dynamically respond to both internal and external changes.

External Changes

External changes occur when the size or shape of your superview changes. With each change, you must update the layout of your view hierarchy to best use the available space. Here are some common sources of external change:

The user resizes the window (OS X).

The user enters or leaves Split View on an iPad (iOS).

The device rotates (iOS).

The active call and audio recording bars appear or disappear (iOS).

You want to support different size classes.

You want to support different screen sizes.

Most of these changes can occur at runtime, and they require a dynamic response from your app. Others, like support for different screen sizes, represent the app adapting to different environments. Even through the screen size won’t typically change at runtime, creating an adaptive interface lets your app run equally well on an iPhone 4S, an iPhone 6 Plus, or even an iPad. Auto Layout is also a key component for supporting Slide Over and Split Views on the iPad.

Internal Changes

Internal changes occur when the size of the views or controls in your user interface change.

Here are some common sources of internal change:

The content displayed by the app changes.

The app supports internationalization.

The app supports Dynamic Type (iOS).

When your app’s content changes, the new content may require a different layout than the old. This commonly occurs in apps that display text or images. For example, a news app needs to adjust its layout based on the size of the individual news articles. Similarly, a photo collage must handle a wide range of image sizes and aspect ratios.

Internationalization is the process of making your app able to adapt to different languages, regions, and cultures. The layout of an internationalized app must take these differences into account and appear correctly in all the languages and regions that the app supports.

Internationalization has three main effects on layout. First, when you translate your user interface into a different language, the labels require a different amount of space. German, for example, typically requires considerably more space than English. Japanese frequently requires much less.

Second, the format used to represent dates and numbers can change from region to region, even if the language does not change. Although these changes are typically more subtle than the language changes, the user interface still needs to adapt to the slight variation in size.

Third, changing the language can affect not just the size of the text, but the organization of the layout as well. Different languages use different layout directions. English, for example, uses a left-to-right layout direction, and Arabic and Hebrew use a right-to-left layout direction. In general, the order of the user interface elements should match the layout direction. If a button is in the bottom-right corner of the view in English, it should be in the bottom left in Arabic.

Finally, if your iOS app supports dynamic type, the user can change the font size used in your app. This can change both the height and the width of any textual elements in your user interface. If the user changes the font size while your app is running, both the fonts and the layout must adapt.

In addition to the classes and methods (called member functions in Kotlin) of object-oriented programming, Kotlin also supports procedural programming with the use of functions.

Android Development Course -2(Project Creation in Android Studio)

Creating an android project in android studio.

Creating a web database application in 5 minutes using AppGini

This screen cast will guide you through using AppGini ( https://bigprof.com/appgini ) to create a database web-application from scratch. In a few minutes, we’ll create a simple product catalog, set it up and see it in action.

00:07 If you are looking for a way to make a user-friendly, fast and feature-rich web application in a very short time, that’s when AppGini comes handy. This tutorial shows you how to create a web application in 5 minutes using AppGini.

00:21 First we’ll start a new project. Let’s give it a name: in our example we’ll name it “product catalog”.

00:31 Then we’ll add two tables one for “categories” and another one for “items”.

00:37 You can assign an icon for each table by clicking on the box at the left of the table name.

00:48 Next, we’ll add fields to each table. Each table MUST contain a primary key field. If you name a field “ID”, it will automatically become a primary key. You can add as many fields and tables as you need.

01:16 Now, let us try out some of AppGini’s features.

01:18 If we set a field as a look-up, it would be displayed to users as a drop-down, listing data from another table. This makes your web application more organized.

We’ll set the “category” field as a look-up field simply by clicking on the “look-up field” tab, selecting “category” as the “parent table” then “category name” as the “parent caption field”.
01:40 In addition, if you want to list items under each category, you’ll need to configure the “categories” table by opening the “parent/children settings”, select the “items” table, check “enabled”, “show icon” and optionally rename the “tab title” to a more descriptive one.

01:57 All you need to do now is to generate your web application by clicking the magic stick icon. Choose your application path and AppGini will do the job for you.

02:14 These are the files generated by AppGini.

02:20 Let us visit our web application and see this in action.

02:37 This is the setup data page. Once we are done filling it, we start using our application.

02:52 As you can see, both tables appear on the first page. Let’s go to the “Categories” table and enter some data. Here you can see the table fields.

02:59 To start adding a new record simply click “Add new”. You will automatically be directed to the Data entry page, also known as Detail view form.

03:11 We’ll enter Dresses and T-shirts as an example. Simply press “back” to see how the table looks like.

03:22 Once we are done, we jump to “items” table and start adding our data for this table as well.

03:43 Do you see how the “category” field is displayed? It’s a drop down menu, because we set it up as a look-up field in AppGini. The drop down lists the categories that we entered a moment ago in the “categories” table.

03:59 AppGini offers special features for fields with immutable data like “size” and “target groups”.

04:07 This is how the “items” table looks like after adding our data.

04:12 Now let us go back to AppGini to see how to make use of its features.

04:16 To create a drop-down list, click on the field name, then on “options list”, and type all values you need, separating options with double semicolon. You can choose among three options for how to display your options list. In our case we will choose the “drop-down list”.

04:36 We’ll perform the same steps for the “target group” field, but this time we’ll choose “radio buttons” instead of “drop-down list”.

04:48 Once we generate, we get back to our web application, refresh the page and start adding a new record.

05:04 So this way our “size” field became a drop-down field and our “target group” field became a radio buttons field.

05:24 Finally, this is how our table looks like. To get to know more about AppGini, please visit our homepage for more video tours.
