Xiaomi Mi A1 Android Oreo update issues, update suspended for few weeks

Xiaomi had rolled out Mi A1 update with Android Oreo. The update was already rolled out and I also came up with the update video. But it seems many users were facing some issues with the update and hence the company has suspended the update and will be resumed after few weeks.

I have the Mi A1 Red Edition and I also updated to the Mi A1, however I did not face any issues as such, and the reason being is that I did a factory reset before update and Xiaomi also found out another issue related to MyJio App, since I did the factory reset, there were no extra apps installed hence the update went through smooth and I did not notice any issues.

Xiaomi has confirmed that there are issues and one app the MyJio app seems to be causing the delay. So if you have the MyJio App try removing that app or go to permission and disable telephone permission.

Xiaomi will be fixing the bug and will roll out the update soon. Here are some common issues faced by many users on Mi A1 after updating to Oreo.

Mi A1 Special Edition Red review

Unresponsive camera, slow / unresponsive dialer, finger print gesture not working, light sensor issue, recent app issue.

If you are facing issues on Mi A1 after updating to Android Oreo try the solution provided above, other option is to do a factory reset that should fix most issues. Also wait for the next Oreo update that will fix these issues.

iVooMi i1 review – Isme Kya Kuch Hai!

Here is the iVooMi i1 review, iVooMi launched the i1 and the i1s recently and here is review of iVooMi i1. The i1s comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM and the i1 is loaded with 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM, that is the only difference. Hence you can consider this as the iVooMi i1s review too.

Check unboxing – https://youtu.be/ujf_wQyn-Aw

The handset looks good, feels good, comfortable to hold and the glossy looks along with the curvy body gives a premium look & feel. The handset is also a bit slimmer width wise and the 18:9 aspect screen gives a good usage experience.

iVooMi i1 is powered by Mediatek quad core processor – this processor is good for normal usage and really not for gaming users. Apart from the 18:9 screen this handset also comes with dual camera setup.

The dual cameras do not work as expected, do check the camera section for more details. Battery life is decent enough.

iVooMi i1 review
iVooMi i1 features, specifications

Inside the box (Unboxing the iVooMi i1) : Handset, user guide, data cable (USB to micro USB) and travel charger 5V/1A
SAR : 0.313 head and 0.396 body
Body : Plastic body, curvy design, glossy finishing, comfortable to hold, good grip and you can use it easily with single hand
SIM Type : Micro + Micro + Micro SD, you can use all 3 together
Screen : 5.45 inches, 1280 x 640 pixels resolution – this is not HD+ but you can call this qHD+, viewing angles, touch response and color reproduction are surprisingly very good, plus 2.5D curved glass
Connectivity : 4G, VoLTE, WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth
Sensors : Accelerometer, Proximity, Light sensor
Security and Extra : Finger Print sensor on back, it’s really slow
LED Notification : No
OTG : Not supported
RAM : 2GB (about 0.96 GB free on first boot)
ROM : 16GB (about 11 GB free on first boot)
OS : Android 7.0

iVooMi i1 quality
iVooMi i1 Performance

CPU : MediaTek MT6737, 64 bit quad core, 1.3GHz
GPU : Mali T720 MP1
Heating : Medium
Max Battery Temperature : 39 degrees

Hardware is good enough for normal usage but lags when using high end applications and specially when playing games.

iVooMi i1 Benchmark

Antutu : 28161 / 2323
NenaMark3 : 58.4fps (1-3)
Multi Touch : 5 points
Disk Speed : 73 MB/s read and 67 MB/s write
iVooMi i1 Gaming Review

The Asphalt 8 game was barely playable, even in very low visual quality mode. The lag was clearly visible. This handset is not for gaming users.
iVooMi i1 Camera Review

Rear Camera : 13MP + 2MP, auto focus, LED flash
Front Camera : 8MP
Video Recording : HD resolution

Though this handset comes with dual cameras on the back, the dual camera mode or the bokeh mode is not at all impressive. The camera however, in normal mode, does a pretty good job. Day light shots turned out pretty impressive, but night shots / low light shots are not that great. So in all the camera quality is average.

Selfie turned out good and the handset can record HD videos and that too was decent enough.
Camera Rating : 3.7 out of 5

Other features

Sound is very loud and clear. Reliance Jio SIM worked. Finger Print sensor on the back is really slow.
iVooMi i1 Battery Review

Battery capacity : 3000 mAh (Non-removable)
Charging Time : Charge – over 3 hours, using the charger provided
Battery Life : 5 to 7 hours non-stop (moderate to heavy)
Daily usage battery life : One to One and a Half days depending on your usage
Battery Test Results

Battery Temp at idle : 27 degrees
Running Benchmark app : 9 minutes / 2% / 32 degrees
Asphalt 8 game play : 29 minutes / 9% / 39 degrees
HD video playback with full brightness (WiFi /4G on) : 21 minutes / 6% / 36 degrees

If you like 18:9 aspect ratio screen and have limited budget then the iVooMi i1 is the option available in the market. Good handset for normal usage, very good screen, good battery life, good camera and decent performance (not for gaming).
Rating : 3.9 out of 5

iVooMi i1 price is Rs. 5,999 you can buy this from Flipkart.
